New Year, New Writers’ Scheme, New Notebook … New Novel?

thank you, eraders, new writers scheme

Happy New Year! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2021!

This is the time of year when I sign up again for the New Writers’ Scheme run by the Romantic Novelists’ Association.

I feel very privileged to participate in the New Writers’ Scheme (NWS). The scheme enables unpublished writers of romantic fiction to participate in the events held by the Romantic Novelists’ Association, including the annual conference.

I’ve made so many friends and have found my tribe!

The other main benefit of the scheme is that during the year, you are able to submit one manuscript of an unpublished novel and receive a critique from a published author.

thank you, new writer's scheme readers, new writers scheme

The feedback and advice that I have received each year has been an invaluable learning experience and I am so grateful to all of the NWS readers who have critiqued my work. Readers remain anonymous so you do not know who they are. Which is frustrating when you want to personally thank them for their generosity in giving such helpful and constructive advice and encouragement.

So thank you lovely NWS readers, whoever you are!

I am also incredibly grateful to the novelist Janet Gover who is the NWS Co-ordinator and all of the wonderful people who help with the NWS.

More details of the NWS can be found here.

My New Year’s resolution this year is to submit my manuscript to the NWS well before the deadline … promise!

A very lovely friend and fellow writer gave me some gorgeous stationery for Christmas – we writers do love our stationery.

So I have a fab new notebook to start my new novel … watch this space …

Love from Lily x
